Hi @Zulmustapa,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP MFP 178nw printer is compatible with a specific type of toner cartridge, and using a non-compatible cartridge can result in a toner error. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps.

  • Ensure that you are using a toner cartridge that is compatible with the HP MFP 178nw printer. You can check the printer manual or HP's website to find the compatible toner cartridges.
  • Check if the toner cartridge is properly installed in the printer. Open the printer cover and check if the cartridge is properly inserted. If not, reinsert the cartridge.
  • If the toner cartridge is already installed correctly, try removing the cartridge and shaking it gently to redistribute the toner evenly. Then, reinstall the cartridge and see if the error message disappears.
  • If the error persists, try resetting the printer by turning it off and unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again.
  • If none of the above steps work, you may need to replace the toner cartridge with a new one that is compatible with the HP MFP 178nw printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
