Cant print. Unplugged, waited, replugged several times, same “Verifying” message. I’ve pressed the “X” at the lower left corner of screen, it resets and goes back to “Verifying” message.
So far, a waste of money on this unreliable device. Very disappointing and frustrating to deal with this issue with a new printer (no more than 6 months old).
help, anyone?

Hi @Giorgetto,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP LaserJet MFP 4101 fdw printer being stuck on the "Verifying" screen. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue.
- Power Cycle: Ensure the printer is completely powered off. Unplug it from the power source, wait for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in and power it on again. Sometimes, a simple power cycle can resolve temporary issues.
- Firmware Update: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer model. Sometimes, updating the firmware can fix bugs or issues with the device's software. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP website.
- Factory Reset: Perform a factory reset on the printer. This will reset all settings to their default values and may help resolve any software glitches causing the "Verifying" screen issue. The method for performing a factory reset varies by printer model, so refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
- Check Connections: Ensure all cables connecting the printer to your computer or network are securely plugged in. Also, check for any loose connections or damaged cables that may be causing the issue.
It's indeed frustrating to deal with such issues, especially with a new device. Hopefully, one of these steps will help you get your printer back up and running smoothly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
