We installed a new 4301 on Tuesday around 11am.  Wednesday morning at approximately 2:45am the firmware was updated.  Ever since then we've been getting tons of entries in the Event Log and we cannot print, cancel jobs or anything.  We've rebooted the machine and short of restoring to factory I'm not sure what to do.  Below is a list of some of the errors and what I can tell they're firmware related.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding MFP 4301 Error Codes
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It looks like the firmware update might have introduced a bug or a compatibility issue. Here’s what you can try to resolve the issue:

Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for about 5 minutes to allow residual power to drain.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Another Firmware Update

  • Sometimes, manufacturers release a quick fix after major firmware issues.
  • Visit the official HP support website and check if a newer firmware version is available for the 4301 model.

Perform a Cold Reset (NVRAM Reset)

Note: This will reset all printer settings, so take note of any custom configurations beforehand.

  1. Power off the printer.
  2. Hold OK and Cancel (or the appropriate combination for your model).
  3. Power it on while holding the buttons.
  4. Release when the Cold Reset or Resetting Printer message appears.

Would you like help finding the firmware for your model? Let me know the exact printer model number (e.g., HP LaserJet 4301dn) and I can assist further!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

We turned the machine off and unplugged it.  Pressed and held the power button for about 10 seconds, let it sit a few minutes then pressed the power button again so it would be in the off position.

Plugged it back in and powered it on and everything is working again.

Thank you!!
