MFP M428fdw - Screen is blank and printer won't print.

The printer is on. I've un-installed and re-installed, unplugged power, LAN cable - all several times. The printer status goes from Green, to orange, to red and says it's ready but then not available right in front of your eyes. The small screen is blank all of the time. We can't print as nothing comes out. The internal fault diagnosis does nothing. Any ideas please?

Known firmware issue. The fix is to backdate your firmware from the current one, but you need to get it started to do that. Typically we find if you unplug the unit and leave it for a day it will start up. I am short of time right now to post details on how to backdate the firmware but will post later today.

I've been onto Amazon who then put me through to HP who said it's faulty. They've now collected it and i have a new one that works. Thanks for the help though.

So it was still under warranty, that is good news, glad it worked out.
