Hi @fizzyenvy,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Let's try these steps before considering a repair or replacement.
Check the Power Source
- Verify Power Outlet: Ensure the power outlet is working properly by plugging in a different device to see if it receives power.
- Change the Outlet: If the outlet is not working, try connecting the printer to a different power outlet.
Inspect the Power Cables
- Check Connections: Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the printer and the power outlet.
- Condition of Cables: Inspect the power cable and adapter for any visible damage. If the cable is damaged, replace it with a new one.
Reset the Printer
- Reset Process:
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and the power outlet.
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.
Check for Indicators
- Power Indicator Light: After attempting to power on the printer, check if any lights or indicators are turning on.
- Sound or Movement: Listen for any sounds, like the whirring of the printer or movement of internal components, indicating that the printer is receiving power.
Use a Different Power Cable
- If you have another compatible power cable available, try using it to see if it resolves the issue.
I hope this helps.
