Deskjet 3050A J611 all-in-one
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

My printer is connected to the same network as my Mac. When doing the Wireless setup using a USB in the system preferences (HP Utility), a message says: "The wireless network settings were successfully downloaded to your device. However your Mac was unable to locate the device on the network."

I've done everything I could: restart the printer; disconnected the printer and reconnected it back on the network and retrying the setup many times.

Help?

Hey @benjaminllim,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you are having some issues with connecting your Deskjet 3050A e-All-in-One Printer to your Mac OSX 10.11 machine. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. Turn the printer off:
  2. While the printer is powered off, remove the power cable from the back of the router for one minute.
  3. When the lights return on the router, turn the printer on.
  4. Disable all antivirus, firewall, or security software from your Mac.
  5. Try running the installer.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to print to the printer, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

I didn't even need to unplug my power cable from my router. Skipped to the firewall and bam it was done!

Thanks a lot!
