When I print anything, even the Status Report or Print Quality Diagnostic page, what should be magenta is black.  The magenta cartridge is full and full of magenta ink, it is however not an official HP cartridge.

Greetings!

 

Welcome to HP Forums. As I understand, from your post there’s an issue with the print quality. I'd be happy to help!

 

HP recommends that you use genuine HP ink or toner supplies. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP or refilled cartridges.

 

However, you may try these steps but it might not resolve the issue as you are using Non-HP ink cartridge –

 

Solution#1 Printer Reset

 

1) Take out the cartridges. 

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall. 

3) Wait for 30 seconds.  

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector. 

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

 

Solution#2  Clean the Printheads

 

1) Load plain white U.S. letter or A4 size paper in the input tray.

2) On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon > Touch Tools > Touch Clean Cartridges.

 

Solution#3  Align the printer

 

1) Load plain, white paper in the input tray.

2) On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon > Touch Tools > Touch Align Printer. After the alignment, a message displays on the printer control panel that tells you the alignment status.

 

Solution#4  Clean the Printheads – Please refer to step# 14, 15 and 16 from this document for instructions.

Please see the scan attached.  It is part of a Printer Status Report, printed on the printer.  The Status Report was printed using the touch screen on the printer, not throught the computer.

 

There are no streaks, no missing lines, the print quality is good, execpt for the fact that:

the Black is black,

the Photo is photo black,

the Yellow is yellow,

the Cyan is cyan,

but the Magenta is black.

 

Yes, the ink in the magenta cartridge is magenta, and I have tried to change the cartridge.ink color.jpg
