Trying unsuccessfully to find the manufacture date on my printer. The serial number is CN8432504S.  I read that the 4th, 5th, and 6th numbers are supposed to tell me, but they are certainly not clear cut to me.

You can use a warranty check from HP that will give you a warranty start date that is close to the manufacturing date.

In your case:

Start Date

June 21, 2018

Valsimot, Thank you so much for your quick reply and information on the warranty start date.  However, I really want the manufacture date.  Supposedly, the serial number gives you that information.  True or not true?

The manufacture date from serial number works for laptops, can't be applied on printers as far I know. The warranty start date is closest you can get to the manufacturing date (maybe within a week).
