Hello community,
A printer we use on our network has appeared as vulnerable in security scans. Tenable finds a hit for plugin 42873,
"SSL Medium Strength Cipher Suites Supported".
I have tried the following steps:
- The Printer firmware is current, release date Sep 19, 2017
- The System time the printer was using was incorrect, that has been corrected.
- 802.1x Authentication has had password added. Encryption strength increased to High, and security has been added to prevent fail over during authentication errors.
- I Generated a new self-signed Network certificate using the printer’s built-in tool
- I have disabled SNMP v1, v2 & v3
- HTTPS redirect has been turned ON
- Wireless direct printing has been turned OFF
These steps have not resolved the security vulnerability and the Printer still appears in Tenable scans.
Can anyone offer further advice that would help me resolve this issue?
Thanks
Will Jones
