Hello HP Community!
My HP Officejet Pro 7740 is showing a message on the touch screen "Memory Device Problem", thus I can't use any feature on the printer menu - even the help / trobleshooting features.
This problem started recently and there is none USB device attached to the printer. From the HP Smart or HP Diagnostics Software from the notebook, the printer is fine and currently printing.
This error seems to "go"for a few seconds unlocking the touch screen but returns almost immeaditelly.
I already tried to shut down the printer several times, remove from the wall plug, removed any surge protection tat the printer was plugged in also.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @MrD84
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you
Due to the current global COVID-19 situation, we're seeing an influx of customers coming in for support. We appreciate your patience.
Let's try a power reset on the printer
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
I have also sent you a private message with the reset steps, specific to your printer. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hello Jay_G24!
Thank you for the response! The power reset on the printer solved the problem for only a few hours - it returned, but after I tried the full reset method that you sent me via PM, it worked! Now I can access all the printer features via touchpad.
Thank you very much for the help!
