I am having an issue with this printer. I am getting a memory is low when I am making copies and it says it will cancel the print job. Apparently, my almost $500 printer has a warranty for only one year and I cannot even contact HP support. I am not sure how to solve this issue other than bite the bullet and throw this POS printer in trash and go with a different brand.

Hi @Pissedoffuser24,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your frustration with encountering a "memory is low" error on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw printer. Before resorting to drastic measures like throwing it away, let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue:
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can resolve temporary memory issues. Turn off the printer, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on.
- Update Firmware/Drivers: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. You can usually find the latest versions on the HP website. Updating these might resolve any known bugs or issues causing the memory error. Software and Drivers for HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw
- Reduce Print Quality: If you're printing in high-quality modes, try reducing the print quality settings. High-quality printing can require more memory, so lowering the quality might help alleviate the memory pressure.
- Clear Print Queue: If there are any pending print jobs in the queue, try clearing them out. Sometimes, a large or corrupted print job can cause memory issues.
- Reset Printer Settings: You can try resetting the printer to its factory default settings. This can sometimes resolve software-related issues that are causing memory problems.
- Check for Background Processes: Ensure that there are no other background processes or applications running on your printer that might be consuming memory unnecessarily.
