Misaligned Envelope Printing

Printing envelopes produced by stamps.com and Word, printing registers about 3/4 inch to left of center, cutting off initial 5 characters of return address.

If you are using Word > Mailings > Envelopes,

Add the following to your checklist:

Printing Preferences, though not directly accessed as part of the envelope creation process, should be set to a "benign" shortcut that will not interfere with the job. 

For example, set Printing Preferences to Shortcut "Everyday Printing".

Set the Preferences – Windows

NOTES

• This section is not applicable to Mobile Printing.
• Access to the complete Printer Preferences requires having installed the Full Driver printer software.
• Printing Preferences are available directly from the driver. 
• Printing Envelopes?  See NOTE

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Right-Click on your printer > Printing Preferences

• When called from within printing software / applications, Printing Preferences might be called "Printer Properties" / "Shortcuts" / “More Settings” / “Properties” or similar.

• No Size?  If the size of the Paper Size is not included in the Drop-down list, consider / try:  Create a Custom Paper Size Form.  Reference:  HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes

NOTE >> Preferences and Envelopes: 

Select / leave Printing Preferences Shortcut to "Everyday Printing" or something equally benign.

Word > Mailings > Envelopes allows you to modify the location of both the return and the delivery address.

Example - Word > Mailings > Envelopes - #10 Envelope

In Word - before opening Mailings > Envelopes, set the margins to "Narrow".

After loading the paper into the printer, make sure the printer knows about the size / type of paper.
