I'm helping my roommate set up a printer that her sister used in school a couple years back, but the printer says that we need to use the setup cartridges that came with it, which we no longer have. We've already tried a hard reset multiple times and re-inserting the ink cartridge, yet nothing has worked. For some reason, the printer has recognized the tri-color cartridge as set up but not the black ink one (neither are the original set up cartridges).
Please help us bypass this issue.

There is no option on the printer to bypass the setup cartridges. I recommend you contact support and they will assist you in ordering the setup cartridges for your printer.
Here is how you can get in touch with support.
1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
