All troubleshooting failed for 'Missing or Failed Printhead.'

HP Officejet pro 8610

I'm guessing it has simply decided to die. If there are no other options please can you say which printhead replacement do I buy? It is out of warranty.

Unfortunately, I can't provide any insight to the issue, but have the same or very similar issue with my OfficeJet 7612. I've been receiving the "Missing or Failed Printhead" error intermittently for over a year, but have always been able to clear it with a Full Reset. That no longer works, and the error is now continuous. My printer is also out of warranty and company issued. IT support wants me to check HP support before moving forward. Any help is appreciated.

To Reset the 7612 (may be different):

  1. Unplug printer's power cord
  2. Press and HOLD power button
  3. Plug power cord back in (keep holding power button)
  4. Hold power button for 10 seconds and then release it
  5. On printer menu;
    1. Press HOME ONCE (top left)
    2. Press RETURN/BACK ONCE (bottom left)
    3. Press HOME TWICE
  6. That should bring up the control screen
    1. Press MENU (Bottom Right)
    2. Press NEXT (Top Right)
    3. Then you can scroll through the options of Full Reset, Semi Reset, Partial Reset, etc.

Hello @BatRT ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Here is the Part Shop for UK. To find the right part, you need the PartNumber from the printer!

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
