Suddenly my photo smart premiere started telling me that the photo cartridge was damaged and needed to be replaced. I happen to have two new photo cartridges at my house so I popped both of them in and neither one worked I still get the I've ta message that needs to be replaced. I soft reset and hard reset the printer and that didn't help I also read that if you hit the back button four times you may be able to work the printer without a cartridge so minus one cartridge but unfortunately on the photo smart you can't do that. I've taken all the ink cartridges out I've cleaned them all I've cleaned all the connections, I have shut off The printer at the printer itself waited a couple seconds and then pulled it out from the wall for a couple seconds that didn't help. So right now I am sitting on the menu that doesn't let me go anywhere until this cartridge problem is fixed and at this point I feel like I've done everything I know how to do anyone else have any ideas

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting a cartridge error and have tried multiple troubleshooting steps, I am glad to assist you.
If you have tried all the steps mentioned in this HP document:- Click here
And if the issue still persists, you might have to perform a semi-full reset on the printer to fix this issue.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
I hope this helps resolve this issue completely.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.
