@Cherie23, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

We see that you are getting “Missing or Failed Printhead” error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 printer,

Please try these steps,
Power Reset the Printer

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer while it is still on.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall and then into the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Reseat the Printhead

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove all ink cartridges.
  • Lift the latch handle on the printhead carriage.
  • Carefully remove the printhead.
  • Reinsert the printhead and lower the latch.
  • Reinstall the ink cartridges and close the access door.

Clean the Printhead Contacts

  • Remove the printhead again.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the printhead and inside the printer.
  • Let everything dry for a few minutes before reinserting.

Update Firmware

  • Visit the HP Support website and check for the latest firmware for your printer model.
  • Install any available updates.

Perform Printhead Cleaning from the Printer Menu

  • On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

If none of the above steps work, the printhead may be damaged and need replacement, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - United States | HP® Support
