My Officejet Pro 6970 will not print blue. I have replaced the cyan cartridge, made sure the vent is not blocked, tried cleaning and aligning heads to no avail. All other colours print fine. Blue comes out pale salmon. Any suggestions or solutions?

Hi @TrinityChaplain,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you’ve already done a lot of troubleshooting. Here are a few more steps you could try.
- Check Ink Levels: Even though you’ve replaced the cyan cartridge, double-check the ink levels for cyan. Sometimes new cartridges can be faulty or not have full ink.
- Print Head Nozzle Check: Perform a nozzle check or print head alignment from the printer’s control panel or software. If the nozzle check shows gaps or missing lines, the print head might still be clogged.
- Manually Clean the Print Head: If automatic cleaning didn’t work, try manually cleaning the print head. Remove the print head and gently wipe the nozzles with a lint-free cloth moistened with distilled water or print head cleaning solution.
- Check Print Head Alignment: Ensure that the print head is properly aligned. Misalignment can sometimes cause color issues.
- Firmware Update: Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes updates can resolve printing issues.
- Print Head Replacement: If the above steps don’t work, the print head itself might be faulty. Even though the cartridge is new, a defective print head can cause color issues. Replacing the print head might be necessary.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
