My HP 4650 is printing nighly diagnostic information that I do not ask for. It also dispenses pages and pages of blank paper. Is it getting old? Should ai just buy a new one. FYI- I operate it using WIFI only.

@DanC607, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Turn Off Scheduled Print Reports

The OfficeJet 4650 can auto-print reports (status sheets, usage pages, Web Services reports). When these are enabled, the printer may print at night.

On the printer panel:

Setup

Printer Maintenance

Print Reports

Turn EVERY report type OFF (including Web Services reports, Printer Status Report, and Usage Page).

Disable Web Services

The printer may repeatedly print ePrint/Instant Ink setup pages if Web Services is corrupted.

On the display → Setup

Web Services

Select Remove Web Services

Restart the printer

If needed, re-enable Web Services later.

This stops the printer from issuing nightly status sheets.

Clear Print Queue From All Devices

If a queued job is stuck or corrupt, the printer may try printing it as blank pages.

On every connected computer/phone:
• Open Print QueueCancel All Documents
• Restart the device and the printer.

Check for Firmware Freeze / Partial Update

A stuck firmware module can cause repeated diagnostic sheets.

Power on → unplug the power cable from the printer (while ON).

Wait 60 seconds.

Plug into wall outlet → restart.

Try printing again.

Ensure No Fax Reports Are Enabled

The 4650 may print fax confirmation/error reports by default.

On the panel:
Fax Setup → Reports → Off

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
