If your HP 7155 printer continues to display a paper jam error even though there is no visible jam and cleaning the rollers hasn't helped, here are some additional steps you can take to resolve the issue:
Steps to Resolve Persistent Paper Jam Error:
Check Entire Paper Path:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Carefully check the entire paper path, including the input tray, output tray, and any access doors for any shreds of paper or debris that may be causing the sensor to detect a jam.
- Use a flashlight to inspect thoroughly, as even small pieces of paper or debris can trigger the error.
Reset the Printer:
- Perform a power reset by unplugging the power cord from the rear of the printer while it is still turned on.
- Wait at least 60 seconds, then plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
Check Paper Type and Condition:
- Ensure that the paper you are using is within the recommended specifications for your printer model. Using paper that is too thick, curled, or wrinkled can sometimes trigger false paper jam errors.
- Fan the paper stack before loading it into the tray to prevent pages from sticking together.
Inspect and Clean Rollers Again:
- Clean the rollers again using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water. Rollers that are dirty or covered in paper dust can cause feeding issues and erroneous paper jam errors.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check for and install any available firmware updates for your HP 7155 printer. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues and improve printer performance, including paper handling.
Perform a Self-Test:
- Print a self-test page or diagnostic page from the printer's control panel to check if the printer reports any specific errors or issues that could be related to the paper jam detection.
