I moved my printer 10 feet and am now getting a "use setup cartridge error". I did still have them,so I installed and am still getting the error. I have followed all steps from the virtual assistant, and still get the error. Please help!

Hi @Olwhirl,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already taken some troubleshooting steps, but let's go through some additional ones to see if we can resolve the "use setup cartridge error" on your HP 8139e printer:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed in their respective slots. Make sure they are securely seated and clicked into place.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Sometimes, dirt or debris on the cartridge contacts can interfere with the connection. Remove the cartridges and gently wipe the contacts with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dipped in distilled water. Allow them to dry completely before reinstalling.
Reset Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can often reset any internal errors.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. You can usually find this in the printer's settings menu or on the HP website. If an update is available, follow the instructions to install it.
Inspect Cartridges:
- Check the cartridges themselves for any visible damage or defects. If they appear damaged or leaking, replace them with new cartridges.
Try Different Cartridges:
- If you have another set of cartridges available, try installing them to see if the error persists. This can help determine if the issue is with the cartridges themselves or the printer.
Clean Cartridge Contacts on Printer:
- Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door. Gently clean the contacts inside the printer with a clean, dry cloth or cotton swab.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- A hard reset can sometimes resolve persistent errors. To do this, turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds. Then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
