I sometimes get a message to say the printer is offline but whether I get this message or not, the printer only prints documents when I reboot my Dell PC or my wife's Surface Pro - both of which run WIndows 10. I feel there is a communication problem - maybe with a setting somewhere. The problem seems to occur when we print from the other PC having alerady printed from one. SOmetimes the document remains visible on the printer control panel on the PC after it has succesfully pritned as if it never received a completed succesfully signal.

Hi,

Try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Please let me know the results,

Shlomi

Thank you for responding but I've already tried the HP Scan doctor several times. It does seem to correct the problem but since I have to reboot the machine to make it effective it may just be the reboot that "fixes" it as I stated in the original problem. Either way, it only fixes the problem temporarily. It almost seems like only one of our two machine can communicate with the printer and then the success message just doesn't get returned to terminate the print job.

Hi,

Have you tried following the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility using the link included in my post?

If not, please give it a try, there are two different versions of the Utility, please give it a try using this specific link and let me know the results.
