My DeskJet 2700e was printing away happily but suddenly stopped half way through a job.  I've tried turning the router off, the printer power off etc but now I have a ! symbol plus a symbol that looks like an envelope, both flashing on the control panel.  Please help me!

I understand your DeskJet 2700e printer is indicating an error condition with the flashing symbols. The exclamation mark (!) and the envelope symbol typically indicate that there is an issue with the printer, such as a paper jam, low ink levels, or a problem with the print cartridges.

 

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

 

Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer cover and check for any jammed paper inside the printer. If you find any, gently remove it. HP DeskJet Printers - E4 (Paper jam) error

Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink levels. If any of the cartridges are low on ink or empty, replace them with new ones.

Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues.

Reset the Printer: Many printers have a reset option in the settings menu. Check your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset. This can often resolve software-related issues.

Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. You can usually find this option in the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP website. Software and Drivers for HP DeskJet 2700e All-in-One series

Check Network Connection: Ensure that the printer is connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device. If you're using a wireless connection, try reconnecting the printer to the Wi-Fi network.
