HP DeskJet 2723e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My Deskjet 2723e keeps going offline and when I can get it back on line it starts printing and then stops and goes offline again. I've rebooted, deleted the job in the Q, checked my internet connection and tried again but still offline. I've been working on this for hours. I'm not an expert with computers working from home, but  I'm done with this printer!!

Hi @EDY28,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Dealing with printer connectivity issues can be frustrating, especially when you're trying to get work done. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get your HP Deskjet 2723e back online.

  • Check Physical Connections: Make sure all cables connecting the printer to your computer or network router are securely plugged in. Sometimes a loose connection can cause intermittent connectivity issues.
  • Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can usually find these on the HP website. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause connectivity problems.
  • Check Wi-Fi Connection: Verify that your Wi-Fi network is working properly and that your printer is connected to the correct network. You can usually do this by printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel.
  • Restart Router: If other devices on your network are also experiencing connectivity issues, try restarting your router. Sometimes routers can get overwhelmed and need a reset.
  • Disable Firewall/Antivirus: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the connection to your printer. Try temporarily disabling these software programs and see if the printer comes back online.
  • Reinstall Printer: If none of the above steps work, you might need to uninstall and then reinstall the printer on your computer. This can sometimes reset any configuration issues that are causing the offline status.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
