OK, the fact the printer can be reached through the email address means the printer is working fine, and the fact the EWS can be reached means the printer is on the same network and can communicate with the PC.
I would suggest we change the port settings for the printer as follows: go to the Devices and Printers folder. Right click on the Deskjet 4640 series printer and select Printer Properties, Ports, Add Port, HP Standard TCP/IP Port, New Port, Next. In the box that comes up put the IP address (just the numbers) in the Printer Name or IP Address box. Check the "Always print to this device, even if its IP address changes", Next, Finish.

Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue. Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Thank you for your reply.
From reading i saw that i need to get Print and Scan Doctor 5.0 however when i click the dowload i got 4.9. Nevertheless i downloaded it and ran it. It found no problems.
I can print using the wireless function but it doesnt print from the PC.

I checked the HP Print and Scan Doctor (HPPSD) version and had the same issue you did so I reported it.
You mentioned the HPPSD did not find any problems. Was it able to find the printer?
I do not understand when you say you can print wirelessly but not from the computer, please explain a bit.
Also, is your printer connected to your router wirelessly? Can you get an IP address for the printer from the front panel? If so put this number (perhaps something of the form 192.168.1.12) into your browser on your computer. Does this properly open the printer's Embedded Web Server?

Bob,
Thank you again for your response.
Yes the HPPSD is finding the printer and communicating with it. When the part reaches to print a test page it doesnt print however in the next step it prints an internal test page. The message after this indicates that there is some issue with the software.
The printer is connected to a router without any problems. I have no problems connecting to the printer's embedded web server (Although i do not quite know what to do in there)
During the setup it took me online to register and i got an email address for the printer. If i email a document to the printer it prints it without any problems. Thats what i meant by it works wirelessly.
