Hi @scotp1234 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e printer keeps canceling print jobs, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, simply restarting both the printer and your computer can resolve temporary communication issues.

Check Print Queue: Ensure that there are no pending print jobs stuck in the print queue. To do this:

  • On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, double-click your printer, and check the print queue.
  • On Mac: Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and check the print queue.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app. Update the firmware on an HP printer

Check Printer Connection: Verify that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network:

  • For USB-connected printers, ensure the cable is securely plugged in at both ends.
  • For wireless printers, check the wireless connection and reconnect if necessary.

Clear Print Spooler (Windows):

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll down and find "Print Spooler" in the list.
  • Right-click on "Print Spooler" and select "Stop."
  • Once stopped, right-click on it again and select "Start."

Check for Driver Issues: Make sure you have the latest printer driver installed. Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause print job cancellation issues. Visit the HP website or use HP Smart to check for driver updates.

Check for Errors on Printer Display: If your printer has an error code or message displayed, note it down and look it up in the printer manual or HP support website for troubleshooting steps specific to that error.

Reset Printing System (Mac): If you're using a Mac and the issue persists, resetting the printing system might help:

  • Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click on the list of printers and select "Reset printing system."
  • This will remove all printers from your list. You'll need to add your printer again afterward.

Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes, other software applications or security programs can interfere with printing. Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall software to see if it resolves the issue.

I hope this helps.
