HP Deskjet 2135 Printer
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hey Guys,

I have a HP Deskjet 2130 and set it up on my MacBook Pro using a USB cable.

But it refuses to print out pages for me. The print job appears briefly in the queue and then disappears.

I know my USB cable is good cause it prints perfectly on my Windows computers.

Any solutions?

Hi @Niks1971

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the printing issue.

To better assist you -

1.) Is there an antivirus software installed on your Mac? If yes, please try disabling it and check if it works.

2.) Are you using a USB hub?

While you respond to that, go to System Information to check the if the USB is detected or not -

1.) From the Apple menu, choose About This Mac.

2.) Click System Report.

3.) Under the Hardware heading on the left side of the System Information window, click USB. USB 3 devices appear under USB 3.0 Bus, and USB 2 devices appear under USB 2.0 Bus. The printer should be under the USB 2.0 Bus.

Try a different port and cable if not detected.

Update the Mac using these steps - How to update the software on your Mac

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Asmita,

You are right, the printer shows up under the USB 3.0 devices.

How do I move it to a USB 2.0 device?

@Niks1971

Connect the cable to a different USB port on the computer. If you are connecting to a USB 3.0 computer port, try connecting to a USB 2.0 port.

Hi Asmita,

I tried connecting to both the ports of my Mac. Doesn't work on either as it shows up as a USB 3.0 device on both the ports.
