I have this problem printing from my HP laptop. It printed in colour for a week or so, but all of a sudden, it only prints in B&W. However, if I print from my iPad or phone, the prints are colour and the test print is in colour. I too am at my wits end.

Thank you, butI have resolved this now - see lower down the thread.  The drivers had updated automatically and caused the issue. I uninstalled the new drivers and re-i nstalled from the product disk.

Check your "Printing Preferences" and make sure that the "Black and White" selection isn't checked instead of the "Color". It will be under the "Paper/Quality" header.

hi I have the same problem with a hp envy 5546 and under printing preferences/paper quality there is no option to select black/white or colour. The option doesn't exist. I'm running windows 10 with the latest downloaded hp driver - april 2017. Thanks for any help

When I click on Printer Properties, it produces the following error message:
