I have been trying to print a word document with images. The printer partially prints (very little amount) and then auto cancels the print job. I have tried running the print quality diagnostic and doing the alignment - no success. Printer is able to print a copy. I have an OS X El Capitan 10.11.16.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.
I understand that your HP Envy 7640 is automatically cancelling the Print Job but Photocopy works fine
I'll try my best to help
I suggest we start with a Printer Reset
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed
Then Remove and Re-Add the Printer to the Mac Printing Queue
-
Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
Figure : Example of the Printers & Scanners window
-
Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, and then do one of the following steps.
-
If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up for AirPrint. Click the printer name, click the minus sign
to delete the printer, click the plus sign
, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.
-
-
Confirm AirPrint or Secure AirPrint displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.

-
Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.
Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you KrazyToad for the assistance. I followed the steps outlined, removed and re-added my printer via System Preferences. The printer was always printing text documents just fine and, after the re-add, still prints text fine. My problem is when there is an image (like a photo/logo etc.) within the page or trying to print an 8 1/2 x 11 page with a photo on it (not on photo paper but regular paper). The page starts to print, pauses, a "printing cancelled" message is displayed, and the printer releases a page with only a small part of the page printed off. This is still happening after the Printer Reset. I believe this started happening after the latest Microsoft update.... but that's just a guess. Thanks for any continued help.

Thank you Raj1788!! I went through the update process, received a message that everything was up to date, restarted the printer and was (FINALLY!!!) able to print a document that had a photo within it! Thank you all for the excellent service!
