My HP Envy Photo 7855 won't boot up.  It hangs up on the first blue dot.  I have tried shutting it off, unplugging it for a weekend, rebooting, but nothing suggested on this forum seems to work.

Hi @Antiprinter,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Envy Photo 7855 is stuck on the first blue dot during boot-up and standard troubleshooting methods like unplugging and rebooting haven't worked, you might try a few additional steps:

May I know

1. Since when are you facing this issue

2. Have you made any changes on your printer post that this issue raised and have you observed any light blinking on the display and error code

3. May I know if you are using genuine cartridges

Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the wall outlet and disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
  • Reconnect the power cable directly to a wall outlet (avoid power strips) and try turning it on again.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • Ensure there are no obstructions in the printer. Open the printer and check if the cartridges are correctly seated and if the paper tray is properly inserted.
  • If the printer is making unusual sounds or clicking noises, this could indicate a hardware problem.

Refer to this document: HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Aloha,

I unplugged the printer from the wall, I let it sit three days unpowered, I held the power button for 30 seconds while unplugged, I plugged the printer directly into the outlet and....I get a white screen with the hp logo, seven dots, only the first one is blue and the status bar under the hp logo goes to the end and freezes.  I am using genuine hp printer cartridges, there is no paper jam.  What next?
