My HP Officejet 9015 printer stops in the middle of printing multiple copies with Blue Screen and
620192F4 displayed, with the printer lights flashing. On inspection, there turned out to be a printer jam, which was cleared by lifting the printer and extracting the crumpled page from underneath. The On/Off button did not reset the computer.
However, plugging and unplugging the computer reestablished operation.
Unfortunately, on resuming the multiple-copy print, the problem reoccured.
Reading your forum, it seems that I need to do a firmware upset with "a magic file".
How do I do the firmware reset ?
I am using a MacBook Pro with Mac OS Ventura 13,6

Hi @Ray_Manchester ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'd be glad to help you troubleshoot the printing issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 on macOS 12.0 Monterey.
Here's a consolidated approach combining the best aspects of both responses and addressing potential shortcomings:
1. Clear Paper Jams Thoroughly:
- Double-check the entire paper path, including the input tray, output tray, duplexer (if used), and any internal areas accessible. Look for any scraps, foreign objects, or tightly packed paper causing jams.
- Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid tearing or damaging the printer's internals.
2. Update Printer Firmware:
- Important: Firmware updates are crucial for bug fixes and improved printer functionality. However, HP doesn't recommend using "magic files" for firmware updates as they can potentially damage your printer.
- Visit the official HP Support website Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer
- Enter your printer's model number or product code (620192F4) to find the correct support page.
- Under the "Software and Drivers" section, look for the latest firmware update available for macOS Monterey (12.0).
- Download and install the firmware update following the on-screen instructions provided by HP.
3. Check Network Connectivity (if applicable):
- If you're using Wi-Fi for printing, ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook Pro.
- Verify that your internet connection is stable.
- If problems persist, try resetting your Wi-Fi router or temporarily connecting the printer directly to your MacBook Pro using a USB cable (if possible).
4. Reset the Printing System:
- On your MacBook Pro, navigate to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners."
- Right-click (or Control-click) on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 printer and select "Reset Printing System."
- Confirm the reset.
- Once complete, add your HP printer back to the list of available printers.
5. Reinstall the Printer Driver:
- In "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners," select your HP printer and click the minus sign ("-") button to remove it.
- Download the latest printer driver from the HP Support website for your macOS version
- Install the downloaded driver package following the on-screen instructions.
Additional Tips:
- Paper Quality: Use high-quality paper that meets HP's specifications to avoid paper jams and ensure optimal printing performance.
- Print Job Complexity: If you're printing complex documents with a lot of graphics or images, try reducing the print quality or resolution to reduce the load on the printer.
- Test Printing: Print a simple test page after each troubleshooting step to see if the issue has been resolved.

Thank You !!! My printer was working once I cleared the paper jams, and until I can do the firmware update, we do not plan to make multiple copies. However, two-sided printing is working -- both B/W and color. I would like to update my information to say that I am using Mac OS Ventura level 13.6. When I posted my query, the system did not allow me to submit a MacOS level higher than 12 -- which was a puzzle. However, given the history of this Error Cod in the HP Community forum, we assumed the Mac OS level was not the issue.
Thanks Again!! I will post again when I can access the firmware update and get it installed.
