Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the printing issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e series printer.
Check the Basics
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Connection: Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If using Wi-Fi, check if the printer is connected to the correct network.
Check for Error Messages
- Look at the printer's display panel for any error messages or codes. If there are any, follow the on-screen instructions to resolve them.
Check Ink Levels and Paper
- Ink Cartridges: Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink.
- Paper: Ensure there is enough paper in the tray and that it is properly aligned.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to automatically diagnose and resolve issues.
Clear Print Queue
- On your computer, go to Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e printer and select See what's printing.
- In the new window, click Printer and then Cancel All Documents.
Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

Perform a Printer Reset
- Reset Printer Settings: Go to the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Restore Defaults or Printer Maintenance > Restore.
- Factory Reset: If the basic reset doesn't work, try a factory reset. Refer to the printer's manual for detailed steps.
Print a Test Page
- Attempt to print a test page directly from the printer's control panel to see if the issue persists.
Check for Software Issues
- Reinstall Printer Software: Uninstall the printer software from your computer and reinstall it.
- Try a Different Application: Sometimes, the issue might be with the specific application you are using to print. Try printing from a different application.
