After installing new printer cartridges, my HP Officejet Pro 8025e appears to be stuck "validating." On the screen, I keep getting the message: "validating... please wait" with a circle spinning above it.

I have tried restarting the printer, including unplugging it and replugging it in, to no avail. I cannot get beyond this screen, so the printer is inoperable. Does anyone have a solution that would enable me to get beyond this validating screen. Perhaps how to reboot the printer entirely?

Hi @gjmlmt ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you've already attempted some troubleshooting steps, which is a good start. Here are a few additional steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the new cartridges are installed correctly. Remove them and reseat them properly, making sure they click into place securely.

Reset the Printer: Sometimes, a reset can clear out temporary issues. To reset the HP Officejet Pro 8025e, you can try the following steps:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for about a minute.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually check for updates through the printer's menu or the HP Smart app. Update the firmware on an HP printer

Perform a Hard Reset: If a regular reset doesn't work, you can try performing a hard reset. This process varies depending on the printer model, so it's best to consult the user manual.

Refer to this document: HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
