My HP Photosmart 7525 all in one printer....The black ink cartridge, which is new, doesnt work.

Ive updated all my software in computer and printer. All other colors print.

@lbfdmcghee, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Make sure the protective plastic tape if any on the new ink cartridge is removed before placing it in the printer.

 

Check estimated ink levels to make sure the printer reads the new black ink cartridge.

 

Clean the printhead

  1. On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon .

  2. Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.

  3. NOTE: There are three cleaning levels. Complete all three if necessary. If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report, and then evaluate the results.

  1. Load plain, white paper in the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon .

  3. Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report.

  4. Check for black.

If the issue persists, perform step 10 from this document.
