Hello.
My HP Smart Tank 7605 is making me crazy.
Every day, more times a day, it prints strange characters like, without any job in queue:
CONNECT example.com:80 HTTP/1.1
Host: example.com:80
Connection: keep-alive
or
GET /metric HTTP/1.1
Host: 933148.7.115:9100
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 zgrab/0.x
Accept: */*
Accept-Encoding: gzip
I installed a new antivirus and changed the router password.
I have deleted the drivers from PC and restored the Printer to Factory Default, then I have performed a full installation from HP Support but the problem come back again and again. The SMART TANK 7605 is just one year old (23 march 2023).
Can anyone suggest me a solution?
Thank you.
Nick

Hello Irwin6.
As I wrote you before, I tried all possibility step-by-step without success.
Remove app, remove driver, new installation of most recent software, upgrade firmware, etc.
Nothing.
I was really unsat and thinking about use yhe HP Smart Tank 7605 only via USB.
But I had a intuition.
From HP Support Assistant on PC, I accessed at HP Smart application by "Printer configuration"and chose Settings.
Then inside the Setting I chose "Print Anywhere" and then I have UNFLAGGED "Allow Print Anywhere".
From that moment the night&day printing of papers with strange characters are disappeared.
So I will mark it as Accepted Solution, hoping that my solution could be useful to anybody.
Thanks Irwin6.

Hi @Nicholas_Italy,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your Printer that prints unwanted text.
A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Thank you again!
Solution B and Solution C didn't work.
My Smart Tank 7605 still print extra pages with unwanted text print when connected wireless (and with PC Turned Off).
Really a big problem!
It prints also when no one is at home and all devices (Smartphone and PC) are not connected at WiFi...
I am unsat!

Thanks for your instructions Irwin6.
I followed them Step-by-Step without success.
So actually I have the most up-to-date drivers, HP App, firmware and software, but still random printing of strange
characters without any job in process or queue.
I will have a last chance before deactivate WiFi forever....
I'll keep you informed!
