Does HP take printers that need a print head back? If they do how do I proceed? I have already ordered a new printer.

Hi @Ouija1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

HP generally does not accept returns or take back printers specifically because of print head issues if you have already ordered a new printer. However, there are a few options you might consider if you have an old printer that needs a print head replacement:

1. HP Recycling Program

HP does have a recycling program for printers and cartridges. Here’s how you can proceed:

Check HP's Recycling Program:

  • HP’s Planet Partners program allows you to recycle old printers and cartridges. The program is designed to responsibly dispose of or recycle hardware.

Recycling Steps:

  • Visit the HP recycling webpage to find out more about their recycling options.
  • You can usually request a free recycling box or drop off your printer at designated recycling locations.

2. Trade-In Programs

HP occasionally offers trade-in programs or incentives for upgrading to a new printer. Although this might not cover printers with specific issues like a faulty print head, it’s worth checking:

I request you talk to HP Phone Support and they will help you to sort it out

1. Click on this link -  https://support.hp.com/us-en

2. Select the country.

3. Enter the serial number of your device.

4. Select the country from the drop-down.

5. Click on "Show Options".

6. Fill out the web form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
