When I print an 11x17 page the inserted (PDF) images print in reverse, all black background. The rest of the page prints as it should. I have a drafter create my drawings and he uses a template and inserts different pages on the sheet. My printer prints them in reverse when printing full size, if I reduce to 11x14 they print correct of if I take PDF pages to Staples they print fine. I cant find any adjustment or setting to correct this. It is only the images that get set in the template. I'm using a MAC with MOJAVE 10.14.4. Thanks.

@MES339, Welcome to HP Support Community!
To provide you with an accurate solution, I would need a few more details:
- Are you printing using the Preview or the Adobe?
- Does the print preview look good before you send the print job to the printer?
Keep me posted.
Cheers 🙂

Perform a Software update on your Mac-
- Choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu, then click Software Update to check for updates.
- If any updates are available, click the Update Now button to install them. Or click ”More info” to see details about each update and select specific updates to install.
- When Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, macOS and all of its apps are also up to date. That includes Safari, iTunes, Books, Messages, Mail, Calendar, Photos, and FaceTime.
To automatically install macOS updates in the future, including apps downloaded from the App Store, select ”Automatically keep my Mac up to date.” Your Mac will notify you when updates require it to restart, so you can always choose to install those later.
Hard reset the printer-
- Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Update the printer firmware-
HP regularly releases new printer firmware versions with product enhancements or issue fixes. Depending on your printer, apps on the printer control panel might also receive updates. Update firmware and apps on a regular basis to make sure you are getting the most out of your printer. For instructions on firmware update click here.

My HP7740 has the same issue. The image reverses when using my iMac, running High Sierra. I was running MS Word. I tried all variations, then tried to PDF through Preview. The PDF image was backwards. The same Word document prints fine from a MacBook Air running Mojave. I've checked to ensure that the firmware is current. Since the iMac is my main computer, the printer is connected to it via USB. Please tell me there's another solution...

I suggest you remove and re-add the printer using Airprint
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print
Let me know how it goes😊
