Hi @Mnorq,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the error code 2.

Error Code 2 on an HP M1132 Laser Printer typically indicates a problem that requires attention, often related to hardware or communication issues. Since you have already tried turning it off, unplugging it, and turning it back on without success, here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Troubleshooting Steps

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open all access doors and check for any paper jams. Remove any stuck paper carefully.
  • Ensure there are no small pieces of paper or debris inside the printer.

Check the Toner Cartridge:

  • Open the toner cartridge access door.
  • Remove the toner cartridge and check for any issues like leaks or damage.
  • Reinsert the toner cartridge properly.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 10 minutes to allow any residual charge to dissipate.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables (power and USB) are securely connected.
  • If connected via USB, try using a different USB cable and port.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website and check for any available firmware updates for your HP M1132 Laser Printer.
  • Follow the instructions to download and install the latest firmware.

Check for Overheating:

  • Ensure the printer is in a well-ventilated area and not overheating.
  • Give the printer some time to cool down if it feels excessively warm.

Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to perform a hard reset.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, the error might be more complex and require professional assistance. In this case, it's best to contact HP Phone Support for service options.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
