No Matter what I do, I cannot print color documents from MS Word. I have removed and added the HP Workforce 3830. I updated the drivers. When I print a demo page from the printer digital interface scree, it prints beautiful color. When I print a quality diagnostic page, everything is fine. I cleaned the print heads. What is wrong? I am frustrated as I have spent hours trying to figure this out. Can't afford to buy a new printer but I NEED color!

Because I don't know which OS you're running, I can't tell you which screen(s) to go to to choose the IPP driver. It's also been a while since I did this. After you download the printer driver, you then need to install it. I believe it's at that point you can select the printer. You can go to Settings, Devices, Printers & Scanners, make sure your printer is on, then select Add a Printer. At that point, you might find MS IPP driver. You can also search the Internet for finding or installing a MS IPP driver. Sorry I'm not more help than that. I learned this only by searching and searching for articles on this issue, and then, it was in someone's reply back in 2015 where I found this solution.

I have done these steps multiple times and I still get the driver not available message. Now what? It's become extremely frustrating as I've been trying to get my printer to work for 4 days now and nothing seems to work.

First of all, did this printer ever print...anything? Don't think I'm understanding what problem you're trying to solve unless it's getting the printer to print something. The steps I've done are because I lost color printing or black printing. My printer always printed. At which point do you get the message "driver not available"? Are you downloading the driver from an HP site? Do you completely delete the driver before downloading a new one? I assume you're installing the printer after you download the driver? There are too many unknowns for me to be of any help. I'm also not sure which steps you've tried over and over. If you've followed my threads/advice, then I don't understand why you'd get that message.

I'm not in any way familiar with a Surface Pro but the issue is with the printer driver. Install an older driver, maybe a Windows 97 driver, just something older than the operating system you have. I suggest going through my replies in this topic for other suggestions.

When I originally installed this on my HP Pavillion Laptop using Windows 10 it worked fine. Then it stopped printing in colour and would only print in grey scale (B&W). I have an office laptop (another HP product) that I can print in colour from, but not my personal laptop. So I searched for reasons why I couldn't print in colour. Following some or your steps after uninstalling and reinstalling I got the error message that i my driver wasn't activated. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Finally the printer was recognized but when I go to print, I don't get any documents to print. Again, I can print with no issues using my office laptop, I just can't print using my personal laptop which is where I want to do my printing from. Any other suggestions?
