Hello,
I have been struggling with this frustrating problem for the last few months! My printer (HP 4655) wifi lights keeps flashing on and off, and sometimes it says it is offline. I understand from the internet company that they are unable to connect it to my network. There have been periods when I am able to print, but then this quickly ends. . I have been going back and forth on Facebook with HP to try and solve this. They have walked me through a few steps, but I have been unable to resolve this. I wonder if anyone else might have a thought on this or if you have faced similar challenges? Thank you!
Sincerely,
Benjamin Meyer

@meyerbe, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I see that the printer has intermittent connectivity issues. Let us try these steps:
- Restart the router, the printer, and the PC
- Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
You may use the WPS button to connect the printer. Restart the router and the printer.
Kindly follow the steps mentioned in this document - Connecting an HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
- This printer supports WPA encryption, check if the router is on the same encryption method. If using WEP or WPA-PSK+FT change it to WPA-PSK
You may also refer to - HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network) and HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
Use the HP Smart app to print.
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
