Dear HP Customer Support,
I am writing to express my frustration regarding repeated issues with HP printers in my small business. Recently, I experienced light printing with my current HP printer after installing new laser cartridges costing approximately $300. Despite troubleshooting, the problem persists, rendering the printer unusable.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. As you can see, over the past few years, I have purchased several HP printers, computers and laptops, and each has encountered similar issues, forcing me to replace them prematurely—typically within 18 months of use. While I understand the importance of extended warranties, I also believe a printer should last significantly longer under normal use.
As a loyal HP customer, I recently purchased a new HP All-In-One Computer to be delivered on 11/22/24. I rely on your products for the smooth operation of my business. However, the recurring printer issues and associated costs have left me considering alternative brands for my future printing needs.
I would appreciate it if HP could provide assistance or insight into these persistent issues. Additionally, I would value any recommendations for ensuring better performance and longevity from your printers.
Thank you for taking the time to address this matter. I hope to resolve this issue and continue to rely on HP products for my business.
Sincerely,
Sheila R. Black

Hi @Sraeblack,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with print quality on your printer.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.
Do you have the same issue when you make a copy on the printer standalone? (Place an original document on the scanner glass and make a copy to confirm hardware is working fine)
Please follow the steps below to fix the issue.
A) Perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.
