One of the possible causes of the erratic behaviour, I thought, might be my own pc, so I had some help from Microsoft, as a result of which there were some radical changes to my system : 1. processor sw, 2. pc bios and 3. a re-installation of windows 10 v1903 (it was v1809 earlier)
The agent had also used the HP package and re-installed the printer. The moment of truth in setup arrives and sure enough alignment was now possible to carry out. I initiated the process got the printed page and named the patterns as required. At that moment the system responded that it could NOT carry out alignment!

TEJ once again I followed religiously your various steps and after the installation of the new sw completed, printer setup followed, alignment was carried out and completed successfully. This puts an end to all my troubles and among the people I wish to warmly thank is yourself TEJ. One of your enjoyments must be, in my view, your ability to help. Thank you again.
