Hi @LAA27,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your computer is displaying an "Out of Paper" error for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdw, but the printer itself has paper, here are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Check Paper Tray:
- Make sure the paper is loaded properly in the tray and not overfilled. Align the paper guides to fit the paper snugly.
Paper Size Settings:
- Ensure that the paper size settings on your computer match the paper loaded in the printer. Mismatched sizes can trigger this error.
- Go to your printer settings on your computer:
- Open the "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners" menu.
- Right-click on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdw and select "Printer Preferences."
- Make sure the correct paper size is selected under the "Paper/Quality" or "Layout" tabs.
Restart Printer and Computer:
- Turn off both the printer and your computer. Wait a few seconds, then turn them back on to reset the connection.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Inspect the paper tray, feed rollers, and inside the printer for any jams or improperly placed paper that might be causing the error.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure the printer drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website for your LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdw model.
Clear Print Queue:
- Cancel all print jobs and try printing a new document to ensure there isn’t an issue with the print job itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
