Hi @debbgirl,

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums After reading your post I see that you require assistance with the printer as it prints blank pages. It will be a delight to assist you here.

Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.

  • Did you replace cartridges and check if it gets fixed.
  • Is the operating system Windows or Mac?
  • Did you make copies directly from the printer and check again?

For now please try these steps:

  • Make 2 copies directly from the printer without any communication from the computer and check if it copies correctly.
  • If it copies correctly, uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers and it should fix the issue for you.
  • If it fails to copy correctly, perform all the prescribed steps from this link: http://hp.care/2svmafH  to fix print quality issues. Then check if the issue gets resolved.

If the problem continues, please contact HP phone support to get either the cartridges replaced or the printer replaced based on the print quality report as one of them is faulty.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://hp.care/2r9wSvP

  • Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
  • Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat. 🙂

I have tried every troubshooting idea and none worked. It is still totally blank page. The printer is 4 years old and I do not feel it should have stopped working already. Very sad I have to purchase a new printer plus I bought a new cartridge that is no longer any good.

Hi @debbgirl,

I read the super quick response. I understand where you come from. The average shelf life of a printer is about 4 years. So it has served you for the right period of time. You've displayed great technical competence and a fine temperament to try and resolve the issue. Kudos to you for a job well done. 🙂

Based on the previous post I gave you the steps that should have resolved the issue if the printer's hardware is not faulty. Trust me I've done all I can to assist you by keeping your best interest in mind. At least we figured out that the printer's hardware is faulty.

It has been an absolute privilege to share this platform with you and a great experience to work with you.

Well at this point in time, the best route to go is to buy a new printer. I hope that works great and stays healthy for a long time.
