Please help! I am having no end of problems trying to print photos. Normal A4 printing works perfectly but as soon as I try to print a photo I get partially printed pictures. I have changed the printer to reflect the correct paper size and changed the printer settings on the pc to the correct size paper but it still doesn’t work.  Every photo I print has bits cut off and I am getting very annoyed / fed up now!

This is what printedThis is what printed

Step 1: Reset the printer

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

2. Wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Step 2: Update the printer firmware

  4.  In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
  5.  In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
  6.  Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
  7.  Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
  8.  Click on the “Drivers” tab

Hi

I have completed steps 1-5 and the problem still exists, although i am wondering if it is a problem feeding the photo paper as it is now continually jamming.

I am using WHsmith 5"x 7" 260GSM, gloss  photo paper. From what i can see from the specifications this should be acceptable. However I have also used 5"x7"  235 gsm paper and this will not work either.

I am unsure what you mean by asking if I have made a standalone copy?

If you have any further advice / suggestions i would be very grateful.

Thanks

  • Making a standalone copy is to placing the Original document/photo on the glass and making a copy of it on the photo paper being used. By doing this we can conclude the hardware functionality of the printer.

If the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
