My printer is stuck in a Validating loop. Installed new Cart and unplugged the printer. Even rebooted. I'm about ready to throw the HP out the window.  Your help is appreciated

Hi @DenDen3

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer is stuck in a validating loop. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

1. Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Reinstall Cartridges: Remove the new ink cartridges and reinstall them, ensuring they click into place securely.
  • Check Compatibility: Make sure the cartridges are compatible with your printer model.

2. Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn Off Printer: Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait: Leave it unplugged for at least 5 minutes.
  • Plug Back In: Plug it back in and turn it on.

3. Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Use a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with water to clean the contacts on both the cartridges and the printer. This can help improve the connection.

4. Update Firmware:

  • Check for firmware updates through the HP support website. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve issues with cartridge validation.

5. Check for Error Messages:

  • Look for any error messages on the printer's display that might provide additional clues about the problem.

6. Try Different Cartridges:

  • If you have access to another set of cartridges (preferably HP original ones), try installing them to see if the problem persists.

7. Reset the Printer:

  • Some HP printers have a reset option in the menu:
    • Navigate to Settings > Tools > Restore Factory Defaults (if available).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
