Hi @leevo19722608

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for flagging that—when your HP ENVY 6455e shows a “Printer is busy” error, it usually means the device is stuck processing a task or miscommunicating with your system.

Let’s walk through a few steps to clear it up:

Step-by-Step Fix for “Printer Is Busy” Error

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer
  • Unplug it from the wall and wait 60 seconds
  • Plug it back in and power it on
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before sending a new job

2. Clear the Print Queue

  • On your computer, open Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  • Right-click your HP ENVY 6455e > See what’s printing
  • Cancel all pending print jobs
  • Restart your computer

3. Check for Paper Jams or Open Doors

  • Open all access panels and trays
  • Remove any stuck paper or debris
  • Make sure all doors are securely closed

4. Update Firmware and Drivers

Outdated software can cause communication issues:

5.  Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

  • In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed.

Let me know how it goes or if you'd like help walking through any of these steps. We’ll get your printer back to work without the guesswork.
