Hi @gailmy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-In-One Printer is cutting off the edges of your documents, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some possible solutions to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Paper Size Settings:

  • Ensure that the paper size settings in both your printer and the software you're using to print match the actual size of the paper loaded in the printer. If there is a mismatch, the printer may not be able to print to the edges correctly.

Margins in Printing Software:

  • Check the margin settings in the software you are using to print. If the margins are set too close to the edge of the paper, the printer may not be able to print in those areas.

Printer Driver Settings:

  • Make sure that your printer driver is up to date. Outdated or incompatible drivers may cause printing issues. You can visit the official HP website to download and install the latest driver for your printer model.

Print Quality Settings:

  • Adjust the print quality settings. Some printers have an option for "borderless printing" or "edge-to-edge printing." Enabling this option may help you achieve prints without borders. Check your printer settings to see if such an option is available.

Calibration and Alignment:

  • Run the printer's calibration or alignment process. This can help ensure that the printer is correctly aligning the paper and printing within the specified margins.

Firmware Update:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates may include bug fixes and improvements that could address printing issues.

Paper Type:

  • Verify that you are using the correct type of paper as specified in the printer settings. Using the wrong paper type may result in printing problems.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Examine the paper path for any obstructions or debris that may be causing the paper to feed incorrectly. Make sure there are no jams or foreign objects hindering the printing process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
