My printer suddenly stopped scanning. It still printed and copied. I did troubleshooting through Virtual Chat and followed their instructions: I removed the printer from my list and then downloaded the HP Printer Driver from the Microsoft Store. The scan function worked via the test at Launch; but when I went to print something, the driver did not show up in my list of devices. Now I cannot do any function without going through the Microsoft Store and launching every time I need to use the printer.
I tried HP support but was told my warranty has expired. I am willing to pay, but have no way of reaching a real human being. I am VERY upset with HP at this point. Any ideas anyone?

Hello,
Try using the HP SMART APP for Win 8.1 using the below URL.

The problem is fixed. This time when I went to print through the Launch, I got a message that the PRINTER had not been insgtalled when the SCANNER was. So I clicked on DOWNLOAD PRINTER and it is now in the list of devices. Sorry for my previous rant, but I am really tired of not being able to talk to a live person.
Thanks for listening.
