Hi @Somanka,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Deskjet 4100e printer. Even though the ink level is not low, there could be other factors causing the problem. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn on the printer and check if it starts working.
- Check for Error Messages: Look for any error messages or warning lights on the printer's control panel. If there are any specific error codes or messages displayed, consult the printer's manual or HP's support website to troubleshoot the issue.
- Verify Printer Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's connected via USB, try using a different USB cable or connecting to a different USB port on your computer. For wireless connections, make sure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network and that the network is functioning correctly.
- Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or incompatible printer drivers can cause issues. Visit the HP website and search for the latest drivers and software for your printer model. Download and install any available updates and see if it resolves the problem.
- Check Print Queue: Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the print queue, causing the printer to stop responding. Open the print queue on your computer and clear any pending print jobs. Then, try printing a test page to see if it works.
- Perform a Print Head Cleaning: If the printer has not been used for a while, the print heads may be clogged. Check the printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to perform a print head cleaning. This process can vary depending on the printer model.
- Reset the Printer: As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings. Refer to the printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. Keep in mind that resetting the printer will erase any custom settings you have configured.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
