Color was working before and when cyan and magenta ran out, I replaced it with non-HP incl cartilages (This might be the problem). After that, when I tried to print something, there would be a little of yellow mixed in the final

Here’s how you can troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue of incorrect colors being printed:

1. Check the Ink Cartridge Compatibility

  • HP Cartridges: To resolve this issue, try replacing the non-HP cartridges with genuine HP ink cartridges. HP printers are optimized for use with their own ink, and using third-party cartridges may result in color mismatches, poor print quality, or even printer errors. We always recommend using HP ink cartrdiges.

2. Run Printer Cleaning or Alignment

If you want to see if the issue can be fixed without replacing the cartridges right away, you can try cleaning the printhead or running a printhead alignment.

Clean the Printhead:

  1. Open HP Smart on your computer (or use the printer’s control panel if you don’t have the app).
  2. Go to the Printer Settings or Tools menu.
  3. Look for an option to clean the printhead. This process can help clear any clogs or ink issues that may have occurred, especially after changing cartridges.

Align the Printhead:

  1. On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Settings or Tools menu.
  2. Find the option for Printhead Alignment.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to align the printheads. This may help correct color misalignment, especially after replacing the ink cartridges.

3. Perform a Printer Reset

Sometimes a reset can help to clear any settings or errors that may have caused the color mismatch:

  1. Power off the printer.
  2. Unplug the printer from the power source.
  3. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
  4. Try printing again to see if the issue persists.
